Yay! I finished installing the beautiful woodblock prints in the central hallway of the Max Myers Recreation Center in the Mayfair neighborhood of Philadelphia. During my residency with the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, I worked with a great group of 15 students to practice en plein air studies and then create outdoor-inspired artwork. We drew the trees surrounding the Rec Center as they transitioned from blossoms to leaves, and then created woodblock carvings from our studies. I then created an overall pattern from their beautiful prints, and assembled it into a wallpaper. It’s a bit of fresh spring the students can enjoy all year long!
